Planet: Planet-Driven Approach

Architecture affects natural settings, habitats, natural resources, energy, water, and waste. At dsk, our goal is to minimize carbon emissions and the negative environmental impact of our designs. We achieve this through smart neighborhood and site strategies, passive systems for heating, cooling, ventilation, and daylighting, optimal building form and orientation, water management, waste reduction, and thoughtful material selection, reuse, and recycling. Active technology systems are also integrated. Viewing the planet as a stakeholder shapes both our design approach and firm operations, with efforts to reduce paper use, emissions, energy consumption, and waste across all our offices.
